President and Chief Executive Officer
Troy Wilson serves as our President and CEO and is a co-founder of Intellikine. Dr. Wilson was formerly co-founder and Chief Business Officer at Ambrx, a biotechnology company focused on the optimization of protein-based medicines using non-natural amino acids as well as a co-founder of Wildcat Discovery Technologies. He previously served as Vice President, Business Development and General Counsel at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) in San Diego where he played a key role in the creation and launch of several spinout companies. Dr. Wilson received his Ph.D. in bioorganic chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and his law degree from New York University.
Christian Rommel, Ph.D.
Chief Scientific Officer
Christian Rommel serves as our Chief Scientific Officer and joined Intellikine in 2007. Dr. Rommel was previously Head of Target Research at Merck-Serono in Geneva, Switzerland, where he led several drug development projects and collaborations and provided support for both small molecule and protein-based therapeutics across a variety of therapeutic areas. Previously, Dr. Rommel was a senior scientist with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. He received his doctorate in Molecular Oncology/Signal Transduction from the Max-Planck-Institute, Berlin-Dahlem, Germany and the Institute of Medical Virology, University of Zurich, Switzerland.
Pamela M. Klein, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Pamela Klein was formerly Vice President, Clinical Hematology/Oncology in the Development Organization of Genentech, where she led the development of a portfolio of drugs including drugs in the Human Epidermal Receptor (HER) family, Hematology and Apoptosis. Dr Klein has extensive experience in drug development and the incorporation of diagnostics and surrogate markers in clinical trials. Previously, Dr. Klein was at the National Cancer Institute and Research Director of the NCI-Navy Breast Care Center where she ran the breast cancer multidisciplinary and breast cancer genetics clinic and was responsible for all clinical trials at the Breast Clinic. Dr. Klein earned her medical degree from Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University and completed her internal medicine residency training at Cedar-Sinai Hospital where she received the Leo Rigler Award for Resident of the Year, and the Ben Newman Award for the Most Humanistic Physician.
Paul Resnick, M.D., M.B.A.
Vice President of Business Development
Paul Resnick serves as our Vice President of Business Development and joined the company in 2008. Prior to joining Intellikine, Dr. Resnick was Senior Director of Worldwide Business Development at Pfizer Inc., working to seek out, negotiate, and manage external collaborations to discover and develop new medicines. He previously held roles at Rinat Neuroscience, InterMune, and Roche Pharmaceuticals and practiced medicine. At Rinat Neuroscience, Dr. Resnick played a key role in its acquisition by Pfizer. Dr. Resnick earned a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Pingda Ren, Ph.D.
Vice President of Chemistry
Pingda Ren serves as our Vice President of Chemistry and is a co-founder of Intellikine. Dr. Ren was formerly Senior Research Investigator at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) in San Diego, where he contributed to the development of several small molecule protein kinase inhibitors. Previously, he was a Senior Research Chemist at Albany Molecular Research Inc. Dr. Ren received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Fudan University, P.R. China.
Yi Liu, Ph.D.
Vice President of Drug Discovery
Yi Liu serves as our Vice President of Drug Discovery and a co-founder of Intellikine. He has 15 years of experience working in the area of kinases from signaling research to drug discovery. He identified the gatekeeper residue in protein kinase that has been widely used for selective kinase inhibitor design. Prior to joining Intellikine, Dr. Liu was the head of the drug design group at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF). Previously, he held roles at both SGX Pharmaceuticals and Curagen. Dr. Liu holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Princeton.
Michael Martin, Ph.D.
Vice President of Preclinical Development
Michael Martin serves as our Vice President of Preclinical Development and joined Intellikine in 2008. Prior to joining Intellikine, Dr. Martin was Director of Pharmaceutical Properties Assessment at TargeGen, a company focused on discovery and development of small molecule kinase inhibitor therapeutics. He has held various management and scientific positions at Arena Pharmaceuticals, Monsanto/GD Searle, and Magellan Laboratories. Dr. Martin holds a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Illinois.
Heidi Henson, CPA
Vice President of Finance
Heidi Henson serves as our Vice President of Finance and joined Intellikine in 2007. Ms. Henson has served as an independent financial consultant for the past several years assisting with various start-up activities for early stage companies, SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley implementation and compliance. She previously served as Director of Finance at Anadys Pharmaceuticals and held a number of management positions with Fair Isaac & Co., Inc. (formally HNC Software, Inc), a developer of predictive software solutions. Ms. Henson began her career in auditing with PricewaterhouseCoopers where she served both public and private companies. She received a Bachelor's of Accountancy from the University of San Diego and is a Certified Public Accountant.
