Description
Intellikine, Inc., a San Diego-based biotechnology company, is developing
best-in-class signaling network inhibitors to address significant unmet
medical needs. Intellikine is looking for motivated, experienced and enthusiastic
individuals to join our drug discovery team. The successful candidate will
lead our in vivo pharmacology group to develop and execute small molecule
PK/PD, biomarker-guided efficacy in vivo oncology studies and to provide
support for proof of concept studies in disease areas such as autoimmune
and inflammation.
Primary responsibilities will include
- Development and validation of animal models of human cancers for evaluating
mechanism of action and efficacy of small molecule drugs
- Design and execution of pre-clinical pharmacodymamics experiments (biomarker
selection, analysis and interpretation)
- Supervising the activities of the in vivo group that is responsible for
the conduct of animal handling, drug administration/injections and blood/tissue
collections.
- Detailed routine documentation, organization/interpretation of data, and
periodic formal presentation of all work
Required Experience and Skills
- Ph.D. in pharmacology, biology, experimental medicine or related disciplines
- 5-8 years of relevant industrial or academic experience
- Extensive understanding of cellular signal transduction pathways.
- Hands on experience in pharmacodynamics and a variety of oncology animal
models is required.
- Knowledge in pharmacokinetics.
- Proven track record of excellence and innovation as evidenced by peer-reviewed
publications and/or patents
- Ability to work independently and productively with scientists from other
disciplines
- Strong communication skills and good problem solving abilities
- Good laboratory practice and high safety standards
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
