We are a leader
in the discovery and development of novel, small molecule therapies
targeting the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway for treatment of cancer, inflammation,
and autoimmune diseases. The PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway plays a crucial
role in cell proliferation, growth, motility, angiogenesis, metabolism,
and survival. Mutations and dysregulation of this pathway are strongly
implicated in numerous human diseases. At Intellikine, we focus
on the rapid advancement of our programs through preclinical development
and early human proof-of-concept.
We have developed a proprietary approach to dial-in/dial-out the
potency and selectivity of our compounds against particular targets
of interest within the PI3K/mTOR pathway. This unique discovery
platform, combined with our experienced management and scientific
team and network of scientific and clinical advisors and collaborators,
has enabled Intellikine to rapidly advance several programs from
preclinical lead development into drug candidate.
We have established a satellite company, Chemikine, based in Shanghai, China, to address our medicinal chemistry and scale-up needs. We have also developed a network of leading collaborators and contract research organizations that provide access to all key capabilities required for drug development. As part of this network, we have privileged access to the x-ray crystal structures and are working on co-crystallizing Intellikine inhibitors with all four PI3K Class I isoforms. This capability, coupled with our insights gained from extensive structure-activity studies, reinforces our ability to dial-in/dial-out activity and selectivity of various targets in this important family of drug targets.
